Flowers Against the Guns

A series of dozens of small-size paintings made on paper or on canvas. The cycle is inspired by a short film available on the internet. It is an interview of a French TV journalist with a young boy and his father laying flowers at the site of the attacks which took place in Paris on 13 November 2015. During he conversation the father convinces his surprised son that flowers and candles are used to protect them against terrorists. (video below)

The works were created by an original technique of hitting the canvas with leather lashes and straps. Each of them has a film presenting the process of creating an image with a suggestive sound resembling shots. The works from these series became part of Kooperatywa 2 project which was made public in Poland and Lithuania and were included in numerous collections of public institutions.
