A series of paintings and videos, each of them representing surface of a square in differing colours, surrounded by white unpainted background. The Squares have been created entirely with the technique of whipping the canvas, so that at the end even the smallest bits of white background within them are covered in paint; achieving this required consequence and hundreds of hits. The works combine hot expression of formation with cold nature of geometrical abstraction. They bring attention to the essence and allegorical dimension of aggression as the constituting means, at the same time examining symbolism of colour in the context of creating them. The idea behind this series of works is also to attempt physically ‘hammering’ and ‘confining’ the brutal energy to a square canvas.
In the years 2019-2021, six colouristic variants of the paintings have been created: black, red, blue, yellow, pink, and green.
