The series of works which consists of paintings and films. Each painting shows a square surface in different collours, surrounded by a white unpainted background. The squares as a whole were made by intensively whipping the canvas with leather lashes and paint, in order to cover even the smallest white background clearance inside them. To achieve this purpose , it requires consequence and hundreds of hits.
The works combine hot expression of formation and cold character of geometrical abstraction. They focus on the essence and allegorical character of aggression. This way of making a painting makes us explore the symbol and significance of colors in their context.
The concept of this series of works is also to the attempt of physical “hammering” of the colour with brutal energy which imprisons the aggression into it.
These works reflect my fascination of Ives Kline, Kazimir Malevich and Vincent van Gogh.
